Tomato-Basil Bruschetta

Ingredients

  • 4 roma tomatoes seeded and chopped
  • 1 glove garlic pressed
  • 1/4 cup chopped basil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • pinch sugar
  • 2 tsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 T olive oil
  • Baguette sliced diagonally into crostini; 3/4" thickness, about 15 slices

Instructions

  • Heat a grill over high heat. Mix together all ingredients and allow flavors to meld for about 10 minutes. Brush bread slices with olive oil. Grill until toasted and golden brown (conversely, you can throw them under the broiler in your oven). Spoon tomato mixture on top of crostinis, serve immediately.
